The 7th International Symposium on Plant-Soil Interactions at Low pH (PSILPH2009) was held in Guangzhou, China, from May 17 to 21, 2009. This conference was organized by South China Agricultural University. More than 400 scientists from 23 countries attended this conference.
The theme of the symposium is: Nutriomic Approaches to Plant-Soil Interactions: Opportunities and Challenges. The symposium encompassed 5 topics: (1) Physical-chemical properties of acid soils, (2) Physiological and molecular mechanisms of plant adaptation to acid soils, (3) Genetics and breeding of crops for acid soils, (4) Aluminum toxicity and other acid soil limitations and their amelioration and remediation, (5) Sustainable utilization and management of agricultural and natural ecosystems on acid soils. A total of 143 papers have been submitted which included 4 plenary, 41 oral and 98 poster presentations.
